If you're looking to whip up something mouth-watering in a moment, opt for a hand blender--the smaller, more portable alternative to a blender. Unlike mini-choppers or processors, this type of blending favours foods with a higher water content and so is ideal for fixing soups, sauces, milkshakes and smoothies and tackling softer foods like fruits and vegetables.
The Breville VHB060 is a three-in-one blender set. The blender has a detachable leg, also known as the head, which is dishwasher-safe and made from stainless steel. This is less corrosive and more resistant to rusting than other materials and boasts antibacterial properties that keep it hygienic. The stainless steel, two-tip blade is positioned inside the head for safety. By keeping it neatly out of the way this also acts as an anti-splash guard to help minimise unwanted mess.
The main body of the blender has a complementary stylish and durable chrome and black finish and contains the powerful 400 watt (W) motor. There are two speed settings--regular and turbo--so you can change the rate at which the blades turn to give a greater level of control. And this control is further helped by the handle's ergonomic design delivering a solid and comfortable grip. Safety concerns aren't overlooked or compromised thanks to the recessed buttons which prevent the motor from starting if it's accidentally knocked over or dropped which are also soft-touch for prolonged use.
The set is completed with the trio of versatile attachments--a 500 millilitre (ml) beaker, a 500 ml chopper bowl with stainless steel blades and safety locking lid, and a stainless steel balloon whisk with plastic collar. The chopper bowl has rubber feet to prevent slippage when in use and the attachments fully dissemble for easy and quick cleaning. They're easy to remove from the blender thanks to the release button and are dishwasher-safe to save on washing up (excluding the chopper's lid and whisk's plastic collar).
Use the chopper bowl to tackle herbs and vegetables, create chunky dips and sauces such as salsa and pesto, make breadcrumbs or crush ice. Alternatively reach for the whisk to whip egg whites, cream and batters.

I bought this as a gift for my partners dad but being a bit of a dab hand in the kitchen I insist on top quality kit and on examining this product on arrival found it to be just that. this blender really is superb quality for the money.

I am so pleased with this item, i wish I had bought it sooner, no need to get out the large equipment for whisking eggs etc.

I bought this about a month ago and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. I paid £25 and that is incredibly good value for what you get.
Positives:
-The chopper unit is quite large for a hand blender which means you would only needs a separate blender for big jobs.
-The metal hand blender looks and feels durable and was quick and not messy when I used it to blend soup.
-Quick and easy to switch between the different attachments.
Negatives:
-The beaker feels a bit thin so I'm worried it could break easily.
-Make sure you use a big bowl with the whisking attachment, as it can be a bit messy! (Something I think all hand blenders have a problem with)
Overall I'm really happy with my purchase. The box is also well designed so that it can be used to easily store all of the parts when not it use.
