i was suprised to see this advertised on amazon as ive been after this model for some time a friend told me no messy cleaning where fat sticks like crystalised ginger so at the moment having just bought one im over the moon and a price i can afford being a 76yr old pensioner there are other deep fat fryers but i prefer this one i also have since 1990 the breville sandwich maker so this is a name that will last you for many years top marks for price and quality

I saw this model of fryer on offer at a good price (NOTE: not on this site) and bought one after checking the Breville site for full information.
When I opened the box, I was amazed to find that the lid was made of plastic and the manual says its for dust control in storage and can't be used while cooking.
The Breville web site info clearly says its a stainless steel lid.
Make sure you know what you are getting before you buy.
