The Breville TT49 four slot four slice polished stainless steel toaster is a sleek and smart addition to any kitchen boasting a number of helpful features. It has variable width slots allowing breads of various thicknesses to be fully toasted, so whether it's a small slice or something a bit bulkier--all sizes are properly accommodated. And it has two variable browning controls allowing you to choose how dark or light you like your toast. These dual controls are digital so they're easy to read and give your toaster a stylish, modern look and with one control per two slices, you can your toast four slices to two different preferences. Features include a reheat button which brings cooled toast back up to temperature without burning it; a defrost button which automatically lengthens the toasting time to allow for the defrosting of frozen bread and a mid-cycle cancel button allowing you to stop the toasting process as and when you want to. Remove smaller items without burning your fingers thanks to the extra-high lift which raises the bread carriages for easier access. And keep crumb mess to a minimum with the removable twin crumb trays which collect any crumbs that may fall from the bread as you toast it. The TT49 is also fitted with toast progress illumination so you can see at a glance how much longer the toasting cycle will last, cord storage and a non-slip base.

I'm convinced this is the best toaster in existence. It's one of the best looking toasters around, and although it takes up a lot of space, frankly it deserves the space as it will probably be the best-functioning thing in your kitchen. It has two independent two-slice compartments, and it is possible to set each to different browning levels, as well as lights which count down as the bread gets toasted. We've had it for six months and it's still functioning very well, and on a setting 4 or 5 each compartment will toast two pieces of bread to absolute perfection. No more hanging over the toaster to pop it up before it burns. I actually started eating more toast when we got this.

Would recommend this toaster to anybody. It's a little more pricey than some but you gets what you pays for. It has clever little led lights with numbers. The number can be changed to suit how brown you like your toast. I have given it 4 stars because it has one little glitch. It doesn't like odd numbers. That is one slice of bread or three slices of bread. Two or four slices and it toasts them perfectly. Other than that great.

This looks great with a nice shiny silvery chrome finish and a few LED displays making the kitchen a bit like the flight deck of a starship. The red countdown lights are handy for timing perfect poached eggs on toast (setting 5, put the toast in, pop the eggs in as the first LED goes out). Perfect. Two separately controlled sides mean four slices can be cooked at the sime time to two different toasty shades (lightly done or well done).
Toast comes out nice and evenly crispy, and is especially good with proper bread (from a bakers not a supermarket).
Wide slots will do crumpets or bagels as well as toast. The only slight gripe is the slots arent't very long so we have to cut the end of some loaves.

Does exactly as advertised - 4 slices with 2 x 2 controls for different toastiness. It's BIG though - make sure you have room on the counter top!
