    I ordered this kettle after a lot of searching 'for the right one' I wanted something different, works well, something silver, shiny & with some illumination, a quiet & quick boil. My last one, a see-through Prima, which lit up inside was very pretty when boiling but made an absolute racket when too! This kettle satisfies all of the above, am very pleased with it. Just one tiny snag is the lid-I find this a little 'scratchy' when you remove to fill it up. Otherwise, am very happy with this piece of lightening. Have had lots of positive comments from friends on the lovely blue illumination.

    On looking for a decent stylish kettle and failing miserably, I stumbled across this Breville Halo during August 2008 and decided to give it a go. I'm not a major fan of Breville products as I have had a supposedly "Professional" hand whisk go pop after 2 uses, but figured I'd give them another chance.

    The kettle is very nicely designed and the clean lines look good in a modern kitchen. The base lights give it a nice edge without going all-out flashy like some more crude designs on the market. The handle fits comfortably in the hand, and the kettle heats up in good time. The spout is a good design which has yet to drip once in an whole year's use and it all still feels as tight as the day we first got it.

    The only real flaw I have with it is the finish which is understandably going to take a degree of maintenance to keep looking shiney, but then that's the price you pay with polished stainless steel.

    Overall, I like this kettle a lot, and have yet to see it in anyone else's home - which is something I actually put a small value on alone!

    This kettle was fairly expensive as they go, £30, so I expected it to last. After 10 months the switch contacts have stopped working so it is useless. If you hold the switch down hard it works for a while but the switch is very puny. Almost seems as if it was designed not to last. I don't recommend this.
