The Breville JK134 silver plastic and stainless steel jug kettle combines modern design with high performance. It is high wattage--3 kilowatt (kW)--keeping the boiling time short to save you time and has a concealed element. This makes it easier to clean and more energy efficient than an immersed element, requiring a lower minimum water level in order to function safely. It has a capacity of 1.6 litres (l) and so can accommodate about five to seven cups--ideal for families. The JK134 is designed with extra-large dual water windows indicating water level to help you fill the kettle to the desired amount. And these windows illuminate blue to red when boiling, making it easier to judge the correct amount and giving your kettle a sophisticated style. This is complemented by the silver shade and stainless steel accents which add to the smart effect. The kettle is fitted with a non-slip, 360° rotational base for left and right-handed usage and cord storage to keep your kitchen worktop fuss-free.

Poor design,

I recently bought this kettle along with the toaster to match
(see review BREVILLE ) I am seriously disappointed with this kettle as it does not seem to pour correctly. It dribbles consistently and you end up with more water on the worktop than in the cup. The lightshow is most inappropriate. I have emailed BREVILLE on several occasions but do not even get the courtesy of a reply My advice would be to stay away from this product
