First, the good points:

The grills itself works well. The looks good, and the cooking results are excellent.

Now the bad points:

These Breville health grills have serious reliablity problems. The first one I purchased failed after about nine months. No smoke or flames, it just stopped working. We returned it with no problem and received a replacement... only to have that fail in the same way after only three months. In both of these units, there was a problem with dripping. The fat is supposed to run down the grill into a removable drip tray. In both units, I had a problems with fat missing the drip tray (despite the tray being inserted correctly) and pooling on the kitched top.

Although I was happy with the results of grilling food (even with the dripping), the reliablity issue, IMO, makes this grill a poor choice.

My daughter and I have both purchased the health grill and have been impressed by the results obtained cooking a range of foods including meat, fish and vegetables. The grill trays provide a good system to drain away the fat from the food and the food is cooked evenly. Tuna steaks and salmon fillets have become favourites with our family and are very easy to cook and a medley of fresh vegetables drizzled with a little olive oil provide a tasty ahd healthy accompaniment to any meal and takes only a few minutes to grill. We use the grille on most days either for the main dish or for vegetables and it has become an indispensible item in the kitchen.

The grille plates are easy to remove and being non-stick are easily cleaned together with the drip tray, so the grill is quickly cleaned and ready for re-use.

On the down side it is difficult to keep the outside of the grill clean. The instructions say to wipe it when cold with a damp cloth. Due to the rough surface this doesn't work and over a period of time the surface becomes stained with marks caused by the heat escaping from the sides of the grille and burning on to the exterior.

Both of the machines ceased to function, one after two months and one after nine months, the fault being the same on each one. The grills ceased to function completely and both were replaced under guarantee.

This is an amazing way to cook your food! From Steaks to vegetables! This is a wonderful way of cooking, when you cook any type of meat its great to see the fat just drain away (then again it's also disgusting) The cooking time also increases as there is 2 plates resulting in twice the speed, It is well worth the cost because you will use it all the time (well I do) the only downfall is the size of the cooking plates as they arn't very big but I still suggest it to anyone trying to lose weight or even not!
