I bought this toaster along with the matching kettle just before Christmas, looks the part and worked fine for a few days, however as my wife cancelled a toasting cycle wham bam the electric went out in the house. I subsequently tried the same procedure and same thing happened, obviously a fault within the electrics, so like its twin: the kettle, I returned this product to Amazon for a refund. I have other Breville products and they have given no problems over many many years, shame that these great looking products are not supported by build quality!

I set fire to my last toaster (accidently - bread got stuck and almost set kitchen alight) so knew I had to buy something more substantial - this certainly fits the bill. It is lovely to look at and very robust, I have used it now for several days and it toasts very well and quite evenly. It is large so takes up quite a bit of room on the counter top but is worth it. A very good buy and as always good delivery from Amazon
