This is a really smart toaster the produces evenly cooked slices of toast. That might seem to raise the question, "what else would you expect a toaster to do?"
Having had several toasters, this is a real achievement. Most aren't big enough and at least one edge of the toast is undercooked. The slots in this machine are also wide enough for even doorstop slices.
The dials to set the darkness are easy to read and feel positive to use. The high lift function means that you can lift up a slice really high and aren't poking around in the slot to get out smaller slices of toast. It also means that you can check on how the toast is cooking without upsetting the timing that you'd already set.
One bit of humour in the manual. On the subject of using the re-heat function it does say that you should use this after having already buttered the toast!!!
One point, which may be a positive or a negative depending on your kitchen layout. The mains leads is about 2 feet long. This means that you don't have a long dangling wire in the kitchen, but it does means that you do need to site it pretty close to a power socket.
High recommended and buy with confidence.

This toaster is brilliant.
LOOKS
It looks superb, is made of metal, stainless steel perhaps? Solidly built, with beautifully crafter grooved sides, an attractive silver and red, quality mechanism and buttons - looks kind of retroish, but modern too and fits in nicely with our modern kitchen nonetheless.
Its largish, and has slots for 4 slices. As photo's show it has 2 mechanisms and dials and buttons for 2 slices each.
USAGE
The browning dial has a great range, have set it on a lowish level and toast came out nice and perfect so haven't tweaked it since.
The reheat button is useful, as it enables you to pop the toast in again for some reheating and works!!
The cancel button glows a brilliant RED and so is easy and straight forward to push to eject the toast - theres one per 2 slots.
The cable is slightly short, that being the only downside
All in all I cannot fault it - its well built, looks good, has 4 slots, works perfectly.
If you're not sure about the red accents, get a plain silver one one, personally I think the red metal accents looks great!

This toaster looks like it might have come out of 1950s America: the smart polished steel ends have "Breville" stamped across them. A lot of thought has gone into making this toaster easy to use. The rotary knobs for selecting how brown you want your toast make a clicking noise as you turn them so you know how far you've turned them. It's not so easy to see what number they're set at, though - the pointer is dark-coloured. The lever to drop the bread down and start toasting has a nice positive action. There are three buttons for each pair of bread slots: Cancel, Reheat and Frozen. Cancel lights up so you can find it easily if you want to cancel toasting; the other two light up when you select them.
There are two crumb trays, accessible from the back. The power cable is fairly short (60cm from the front right-hand corner). There are no crevices for dust or toast crumbs to gather on the outside of the toaster so it's easy to keep clean.
One thing that's missing is an option to toast on one side only, something that's useful if you want to toast the inside of a bagel, for example, without burning the outside. A huge advantage of this toaster, though, is that you can check on how well toasted your bread is without interrupting the cycle. With most toasters, if you pull the toasting lever up it will cancel the cycle; with this one, you can check on the state of your toast then let the lever drop down again if the toast isn't yet done. This is such an obvious feature, I wonder why I haven't seen it on any other toasters.
The pearlescent red trim round the polished steel is very smart. Other than the lack of a "bagel" option, this is pretty much my ideal toaster.
There's a matching kettle, which is equally well-designed (if a little bit noisy).
