This was bigger and heavier than expected even though I had read about these issues in other reviews/forums but although big you can still use it with one hand (adult male hand). That said the quality of the optics and brightness of the lens is such that once I had looked through it there was no way I was sending it back. No place for a lanyard and lost the lens cover on first week away which it annoying, so be careful of this as the cover is on a not very secure rubberised ring. The long and the short of it is that it is as big if not bigger and heavier than some binoculars and not so easy to carry about but the overridding factor to me is the wonderful image it produces. No problem identifying anything with these even in shadow or low light areas. To me that was very important and consequently I think these are great. (Not bad value for money either, I dread to think of the cost of binoculars giving an image of equal quality.)
