Brilliant glasses 4 Jan 2008
I almost gave up on bird watching before I found these glasses- I confess I bought them in a sale by a german supermarket in uk, but after using them over several days- when I could actually see the details on the birds!- well I tried to get another pair- no luck all sold out. But even at this price on amazon-well, these are binoculars I will gladly recommend. don't bother with smaller magnification or field sizes- 10 x 50 are excellent. These are good! Only bad point is the flimsy caps on the eye lenses, otherwise 5 stars would be my marking. 4 stars is still fair.

Vision through the binoculars is good - but the build quality, at least of the unit I received is a little suspect. True this is a budget priced product but on the unit I received one of the lens tubes(?)was not properly screwed into the made body of the binoculars. Upon examination dismantling both lens tubes showed a plastic threaded part going into an alloy body. The plastic thread of the the lens tube was 'shredded' by the alloy of the binocular body. The shreds of plastic were deposited within the within the body thread hence why the lens tube was screwed at a noticeably odd angle. Cleaning out the plastic deposits and reassembly of the lens tubes to the body enabled a re-cut of the damaged plastic thread on the lens tubes. Otherwise I've yet to fully put the binoculars to a good test to determine it's optical performance...

Bresser 10x50 7 Sep 2009
By Doris
I bought 10x50 Bresser Porro on sale. It is a good pair of binocular, very sharp, clear image. You can see details of the birds close and long range.
I was so impressed I bought another 4 pairs for each of my family. I was happy with them for about 2 months. After 2 months of daily usage, my pair was out of focus and every object I looked at was double vision. There was nothing I could do to get rid of the double vision. I thought this was a one-off. However, the following weekend, I checked my mother's pair and this, too, show double visions after very little usage. 2 out of 5 pairs that I bought are out of focus, so far. I am dreading that the rest of the 3 pairs we have will go the same way.

Although the quality of the image is wonderful, I am disappointed that they do not last long.
