Thanks for looking at this page.
My first published book is "Crossing Borders", a travel/biography which was published in 2008 (under my name then, Brenda Abou El Ola. I am now writing the follow up to this, a novel, and numerous short stories.
I have just published "Walking Towards the Sun" (under my current name Brenda Gunning) a collection of poetry and short fiction, as an e-book which is illustrated with paintings by Stewart Platt. The print version will be available soon.
I have always been a writer - from writing poetry at the age of five to be printed on the children's page of the Sunderland Echo, to thumping out an adventure on a plastic "Petite" typewriter at seven. Then later as a twelve year old writing profound thoughts in my school note book, usually in a Maths lesson when I was supposed to be doing other things. As a teenager I wrote poetry which became songs, strumming along with a few chords on my guitar.
I am now published in a number of places online and am looking forward to writing more as ebooks and print versions.
My inspiration, when it comes, is from people and life in general and I enjoy writing about anything and everything.
