New Mothers Guide - What I Wish I Would of Known About Breastfeeding

This book is a great asset to any expecting mother. You’ll find out how to start your child on breastfeeding, as well as most all the complications that may come along when you try. Not every mother can breastfeed, but this book is a great starter point on telling if you can or cannot breastfeed your child.

With this book you should be able to learn to breastfeed responsibly and create the best milk and environment for your child. The four most common breastfeeding holds are gone over on how to do them as well as why they’re useful. This book is a way to lead new mothers through the process of breastfeeding and deciding how it’s best for them to approach the subject. With the understanding that there are many ways to approach the process of breastfeeding, this book offers many alternatives for different steps and leaves it completely up to the mother on which way they choose to take.

While illustrating the benefits of formula and breast milk, this book is great at helping the mother make an informed decision on if or if not they should breastfeed their child or use a mix of infant formula as well as breastfeeding. It also explains the different types of pumps that can be used if you need to store your breast milk, and it goes through the problems that may occur when a combination of breastfeeding and bottle feeding may occur with the child. This book is great at teaching new mothers the basics of breastfeeding all the way to weaning your child, and it shows them how to do it properly and make informed decisions.

Seven Reasons Why to Buy This Book:

1. This book is helpful in showing you the different ways to breastfeed your child. It shows you the different positions that you are able to use and how to execute them.

2. In this book you will find a way to increase or control your milk supply, and it’ll even show you have to keep anything harmful from getting into your milk supply.

3. Inside this book you’ll find the answer to breast milk vs. formula, and what good each alternative can do.

4. This book is also helpful in showing you how to store breast milk, and it advises you on how to choose the best pump for you.

5. Many mothers will find difficulty with breastfeeding, but this book will show you how to meet those problems head on and find a solution.

6. With this book you will be able to tell your baby’s reactions to breastfeeding, and you’ll be assured to what is and isn’t normal.

7. This book goes over the basics of breastfeeding, and you’ll know what to expect after reading this book on every step of the way.

This is a very short concise introduction to breastfeeding. I was quite disappointed that there seemed to be more time spent discussing the other alternatives to breastfeeding and weaning. I strongly disagree with the author that you should stop breastfeeding when your baby may want other food. In the UK, food before one is just for fun and therefore the main source of nutrition is milk in either form. I did not find this very insightful, but can see the merit of free information on breastfeeding.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute 'MUST' for all new mothers! 18 July 2014

I wish I had purchased this book before my children were born! I had read several books and articles on breastfeeding, attended classes, and talked with lactation consultants before I started breastfeeding. They helped somewhat yet I feel that this book provides the best 'all around' common sense advice! Both my children were not particularly interested in breastfeeding after birth. My initial attempts were difficult but with the help of family members, I was able to breastfeed successfully. However, once I went back to work I began to have difficulty keeping my milk production up and this book provides some very good advice which I could've used with my children! I like the fact that she explains things yet simply and in a very non-stressful way! Again, I wished I had read this book before my children were born because I think I would have had an easier time with the blessed art of breastfeeding! I recomend this book to any mother who is considering breastfeeding her child.
4.0 out of 5 stars Best book ever for new moms! 16 July 2014

My best friend is going to have a baby and I thought sending this book will be a big help. The information packed into each chapter is easy to read and full of gems that any mother-to-be will find useful. I have read other books about breastfeeding, but this is by far the best. The practical information, the tips and just enough scientific information to see how it comes together is the perfect mix. There is so much good information in here regarding breastfeeding as well as other child rearing topics. I definitely recommend it for moms and it is also a great book for Dads. I think it is important for dads to be informed so as to better support their wife. This book helps a lot with that. This is a must-have book for all breastfeeding women!
5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable information 15 July 2014

Every breast feeding mother and soon to be mothers need to acquire the valuable information contained in this book. You will learn what you are supposed to do soon after delivering, the various positions to adapt, and what to eat to make breastfeeding a smooth and enjoyable activity. The unique thing about this book is that you even get to learn what to do when you overproduce breast milk, which is not explained in most breastfeeding books.
5.0 out of 5 stars A help-guide for expecting mothers 16 July 2014

This is an amazing book for the expecting mothers. There are some wrong ideas and debates about breastfeeding - but resolving all the arguments, this book shows how breastfeeding is more beneficial for the infant's overall health. The author eloquently describes how breastfeeding helps a baby resist illness by providing antibodies; and makes it stronger and healthier by giving a better growth. I definitely appreciate the book.
