Having lost a friend to breast cancer, Harding's book is a legacy to her. An intense, rich labor of love. I haven't read anything as fascinating in a long time. I didn't plan to read it in one sitting, but it grabbed me and took me to places as a woman I had never been. Harding wove women's history, culture, science and artistry into one life-saving book.
