If you're anything of a Swing Out Sister fan, there might not appear to be many good reasons to buy this disc - there are only three tracks that aren't present on the group's major albums 'It's Better To Travel', 'Get In Touch With Yourself', 'The Living Return' and 'Kaleidoscope World' - but what a delight those other tracks are.
The tracks 'Another Lost Weekend', 'Fever' and 'Wake Me Up When It's Over' see Swing Out Sister weave their sound in a classic, yet subtly updated form. They've never sounded so good, and the tracks are so fresh that they're worth the purchase price of this album alone. It's a particularly pleasant surprise, particularly if you were disheartened after going to all the trouble of importing Swing Out Sister's recent album 'Shapes And Patterns' only to find it a disappointing listen.
I have to admit that on first hearing the tracks it brought a little tear to my eye, from hearing something completely new and realising that Swing Out Sister are still as fresh and fantastic as they've ever been.
An excellent first purchase for prospective fans, and still thoroughly worthwhile even if you think you've heard it all before. And let's hope the future brings a UK release for the other albums which haven't seen the light of day outside Japan to date.
