When the Series Started to Kick it up a notch... 23 April 2004
By bordersj2 - Published on Amazon.com

I'm a HUGE Break n' Bossa fan, picking up all in the franchise and almost anything from the Schema label period. The BnB series has released some stellar takes on breaks, bossa, samba and nu-jazz and I only hope they continue to do so. This one here is the second in what is now a 6 release series.

What's so cool IMO is how the series has constantly redefined itself. With BnB 1, it was more a compilation of various artists around the world with their takes on the blended genre. In this one, the series started moving toward the direction of promoting the label's own artists and musicians. Nicola Conte's "Bossa Per Due" is introduced (before being grossly over-used!), as does Soulstance's "Circle". S-Tone Inc., then with Idizioni-Ishtar's Milano 2000, even come on with the fantastic club cut "Saudade". But Schema still had predominantly guest artists included like Beanfield with "Corso", Mr. Hermano, Faze Action and there's a cool Nicola Conte remix to Yoshinori Sunahara's "Love Beat". Man, that cut takes me to November of 2001 for some reason...

I would recommend this to anyone that's a fan of the first four Break & Bossa's or maybe even Boss-A-Troniq fans. Also, if you're into Compost's "Future Sound of Jazz" releases you might dig this. But be forewarned, this is not like the final two Break & Bossa's. Those were a bit more nu-jazz/bossa heavy with the second disc mixed. They are still fantastic, and my honestly my favorite of the franchise. And note that there are other Schema compilations out there - one of which sort of goes in the direction of the early Break & Bossa's, and it's called "Post Modern Bossa". Another Schema cd is: "Modern Sounds from Italy", and finally theres' "Freedom Jazz Dance". As for the future of Break & Bossa, I haven't seen news of a new playlist (today at least) so that might be up in the air.

Cutting Edge dance Music For The 21st Century 27 Jan 2001
By Adam Stott - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This series is really delivering the goods. Every track is a winner on this CD, but the standouts for me are "Before", "Watch Them Come", "Corso" and "Corvocado"- real funky, cutting edge dance music in a Latin meets House style. The other tracks are slower, but also real quality in a more loungey style. Volume 3 is just as good.
Lounge Music for non lounge music listeners... 12 July 2000
By Jose R Guzman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Brak N Bossa has captured the essence of street lounge, giving the genre a new life with younger generations. Tracks by Nicola Conte make this cd worthwile. The music consists mostly of bossa nova tracks underlined by funky beats and hoping baseline. Nobody has made lounge music sound better.
