* Depite being virtually unknown in their USA homeland, the upbeat pop-soul of Johnny Johnson and the Bandwagon was a regular feature of the UK charts in the late 60s and early 70s.
* Consistent touring and promotion of their new releases kept Johnny & Co in the spotlight from 1968 through the first half of the 1970s, and with and without the Bandwagon Johnny Johnson scored more than half a dozen UK Top 40 hits in a four year period - considerably more than many of more famous soul contemporaries.
* Amazingly, there has never been a legitimate CD issue of the Bandwagon's best moments before. Kent's compilation gathers together the best of their recordings for the two labels they are most associated with, Epic and Bell, and includes all of the hits and near-hits as well as JJ's album-only versions of hits for the Foundations, the Brotherhood Of Man and the Hollies.

Johnny Johnson forgotton talent,

A voice as good, if not better than many of the better known soul artists.
Sweet inspiration,Breakin down the walls of heartache,blame it on the pony express are the classic UK hits that all will remember from this era. Covers of Mr Tamborine man,the Hollies hit gasoline alley bred bring fresh and unique delivery to these hits along with United we stand and In the bad bad old days. This album is a must for any soul music lover from a unique artist that needs to be recognised for his hard work in the UK and for his endless club dates up and down the country.

I saw Johnny Johnson live in Margate, way back when I was around 15 or 16. This was the first soul act I ever saw, and well let's just say it was a truly memorable night all round..
The earlier stuff is surprisingly soulful, but then Johnny Johnson was ridiculously underrated. My only disappointment is that the CD doesn't include more from Soul Survivor, which I've still got on scratchy old vinyl. Never Let Her Go or his version of The Dells Love Is Blue/Sing A Rainbow, for instance, would have been very welcome. But still after all this time it's quite wonderful to finally hear Johnny Johnson on CD.

This cd sounds great and has a 16 page booklet which tells the story of this upbeat soul band with great pictures of original singles and lps from various countries. There is even a picture of the Singapore release - Johnny Johnson Rides Again EP. A labour of love - buy now!
