5.0 out of 5 stars One of Moorcock's Finest Works 27 July 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Who cares if it is "rambling and unstructured" (rather like life in fact), this is one of Moorcocks's most satisfying and creative works. The dreamlike structure works wonderfully interspersed with the horror, the moral ambiguity and the constant timeshifting. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rambling sequel 16 Sep 2005
By Jane Aland VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
In Michael Moorcock's stunning novel Behold The Man we meet the doomed time traveller Karl Gloguar, who's life ends up tragically entwined with that of Jesus.
We meet Karl again in Breakfast in the Ruins, less of a sequel and more of a drug like drift through various versions of the character through the time streams. There's some fine writing and a wealth of ideas here, but the lack of any strong linking narrative makes this less effective than Karl's previous outing.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst Moorcock 25 Sep 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Here's the worst Moorcock: fragmentary, depressing and monochord. All of the realities dreamed by Glogauer are horrible, and fairly uninteresting. Violence and disruption are the same thing everywhere and everywhen, a dreary affair. Shun this book, read Behold The Man and the magnificent Damcers at the End of Time: yes, Glogauer appears there, too!
