I think it is terrific that Sandra Brown was writing books like this ten years ago. I wish I had discovered her then. This isn't my favorite by her,but it was not bad. I'm always amazed that Ms. Brown can tackle subjects that upon reading the back cover I believed I wouldn't like. She is a master at writing about controversial situations and relationships in a tasteful way. I love everything I have read by this author(with the one exception of ANOTHER DAWN),but my favorites by her are "TEXAS LUCKY", "TEXAS CHASE" AND "TEXAS SAGE".

As a big fan of Ms. Brown, I wanted to say I was not disappointed! It is definetly a book I will read again and again. The romance between Sloan and Carter is one that set the pages on fire!! If you are looking for a book to escape into for couple of hours, this is the one for you!

I did not like this book. I found the main characters as irritating as their names and the "No we mustn't/but how can we resist/no, no it's wrong/but we must. Then they did. Twice." story line irritating. I will forgive anything for attatching characters, a good story line, and/or hot sex, but I found Sloan and Carter annoying to say the least. The grappling on the bed supposedly to test the feasibility of a story line on the first day they met, was pathetic and unconvincing. Admitedly, there was plenty of steamy sex, but even that, given Carters bouts of imaturity and nastiness, was irritating. This is a little book, coming in just over 200 pages, and Ms Brown has no doubt been churning them out like this for years. I have nothing against formular writing, which is after all what romantic fiction is all about, and I have a feeling that Sandra Brown can do better, but I will not be throwing good money after bad to find out.
