Novelization of Space: 1999 TV series - first four episodes of Year One (Breakaway, Matter of Life and Death, Black Sun, Ring Around the Moon).
Taut and fast paced, written by a master science fiction writer. Because a novelization, characterisation and interior life of characters not the novel's strong point. Fans of the TV show and readers who enjoy the "hard" end of the science fiction genre will probably enjoy this novel very much - readers not familiar with the TV show or the science fiction genre (especially the "old school" writers like Tubb) may not like it so much. E C Tubb is a fine writer who turns a sure and skilled hand to novelising a script. If you like the TV show, you will enjoy this book.
