Here's the album to turn your musical hero's into zero's. Whether it's Fat Boy Slim's "Praise You" or De La Soul's "3 its the magic number" or Salt n Pepa's "It's Your Thang". This album has the ORIGINAL recordings from which all the classic cuts where taken. Its a real winner and guaranteed to be in the top 10 of anyones collection. You are seriously missing out if you don't buy this album!

Without any doubt this is a fine compilation of some truly outstanding tracks, if you've got your funk on then you will be well served by most of what's on offer here. Rock creek park (in particular) is a soul-funk anthem of legendary status, and the detroit emeralds (baby let me take you) are a much underrated outfit capable of superbly laid back grooves and pleasing ,mellow vocals. I only missed out giving a 5 star rating simply because this kind of compilation (nearly!) always has to compromise somewhere-filler this baby!-for whatever reason..

However, one mans(or wo-mans) filler is anothers class track. Well worth shelling out on

Worth it just for the first 5 trx. Buy it and don't tell anyone else. keep it secret. we don't want everyone to know where you get your funked up originals from. SUPERB!.

phat beats and cool packaging! 16 Sept. 1998
By gary.dempster@som.com - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is a killer compilation - filled with heavy bass lines, moody samples, and dub/r n b/influenced jungle vibes. Not quite as good as "Breakbeat Massive" in my opinion - start with that one, and if you dig it, get this one. And sweet "Altoids"-style tin box packaging to boot! Mutant Records rulez the wasteland!!!

Brilliant 30 July 2009

This is a brilliant CD in the top 20 of my 1000+ cd collection. If you like funk/soul it doesn't get any better than this classy tribute to James Brown.

Ragga-Jungle at its peak 5 Jan. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Good compliation from mutant sound system -- some rare and hard-to-find ragga tracks, i.e. Everyman. The tracks are raw and very original to the early jungle scene which praise its raggae influences. Check it out. -Dj NuYorkian Seoul
