2.0 out of 5 stars Completely underwhelmed with this book 27 Aug 2007

I bought this book, along with a few others, hoping to pick up the one or two little tips to help improve my BJJ game. I feel like I wasted my $12 in getting this book. For the same price, I'd highly recommend that people pick up Jiu Jitsu Unleashed by Eddie Bravo. This book had piss poor descriptions to go along with the photos, and it seems they skipped steps explaining foot & hand placement, body motion, etc. along the way. Not recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great training companion 10 Dec 2009
By Casandra Mahoney - Published on Amazon.com
I've been training in jiu jitsu for about seven or eight months now. Having been given this and Volume 1, I am surprised at the clarity of the instruction. The pictures are exactly what you would see in class watching an instructor show the move, and the wording is easy to follow.
I would recommend finding someone to practice with, and while it may seem silly, read out loud as you're going through the steps. It helps immensely.

This is going to be my new go-to at home for reviewing moves and studying this beautiful art.
