5.0 out of 5 stars Brazil OST remastered 16 Jun 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is first review I have written.
I read reviews of a persons opinion of the content of a film or music so many times and get annoyed when the quality is not mentioned. Therefore if you know the film you know the music. I own a moderate music system and medium size collection of music. Enough to know that older transfers to CD can be low in dynamic range. This disc is different. The quality of the remastering is outstanding and adds to the enjoyment of listening to the disc. Each track takes you back to the original scene. If you love the film (nearly called 1984 and a half... listen to track 21) you will love this disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding 18 May 2012

This is the best movie soundtrack ever. After the movie was released, I couldn't find the soundtrack anywhere. That's changed with the internet.
5.0 out of 5 stars Variations on a Theme of Brazil 7 April 2012
By Kaljic - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Terry Gilliam's movie Brazil must surely be one of the best movies made in the last thirty years. An element to the success of Brazil must surely be the soundtrack. Michaal Kamen took a popular song, Brazil, and throughout the film composed variations on the theme of Brazil. This CD is that movie's soundtrack, with portions of its dialogue. It features an eleven muinute interview with Terry Gilliam himself discussing Kamen and the soundtrack. Kamen succomed to multiple scrolsis at a relatively young age. This CD is a testament to his talents as a movie soundtrack composer. The CD can be enjoyed as music in its own right, so if you have never seen the movie --- well, if you haven't you should as it is required viewing --- this CD can be enjoyed as an independent piece of music. Both this CD and the movie are highly recommended!
3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat Disapointed 29 Dec 2011
By Sterling - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Barroso's Brasil has achieved iconic status, the film was memorable, Michael Kamen did exceptional, imaginative work with the music, yet the CD was put together in a sloppy manner. What I heard on the Amazon provided samples is pretty much all there is. For example, "Central Services/The Office" piece, which showcases Kamen's extraordinary talent, is 1'41 minutes and is sloppily ended with talk from film scenes. It appears the publisher was not interested in this project, they just cut pieces from the film which contained music, without much concern of how the pieces begin or end. I also expected more music, less chat and less special effects. However deficient, just having samples of Kamen's work is worth the price.
Received the CD in five days. The seller, ImportCD and Amazon both get 5 stars for their service.
