Product Description

Product Description

Summer 1977: It’s no holiday in the sun in Handstead New Town, a north Manchester overspill. Known to the local cops as Horse’s Arse, it’s preparing to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. But with football violence, rampant police hooliganism and an expanding LSD market - there’ll be a riot going on…

Local gangster, Sercan Ozdemir has under-estimated DCI Harrison, head of the CID. Blood on the floor in an interview room is all in a day’s work for him. And Ozdemir knows that if his crime family discover he’s been doing his own thing, they’ll pull his face off. Meanwhile the uniform cops, Psycho, Pizza, The Brothers, Ally and the others, hurl the rule book out of the window and continue to hold the tide of criminal scum at bay for as long as they can in a town they despise...

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner!, 12 Dec 2008
By Matt Holt - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having thoroughly enjoyed every page of the first two books I was overjoyed to source an advance copy of the eagerly awaited Bravo Jubilee! Again the unique Charlie Owen gritty storyline kicks in and the first chapter commands your attention from the off punctuated with more original hilarious similes and scenarios. The characters we know whose personalities are embellished to a point when the reader feels they may have actually met them (or some one like them) in their own experiences. There are dark moments which highlight the author's skill to move from feeling slightly disturbed to fit of uncontrollable laughter. If a Britflick film maker made this properly it would blow all that's gone before out of the water! If you're over 18 and have got a sense of humour one cannot fail to enjoy it! Put it on your Christmas list and if you have not read the first two get them as well you wont be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Bravo Jubilee, 18 Dec 2008
I have just finished the book. Like the two books before, this book is brilliantly written. Once you start on page one, you will simply be engrosed in the book. Charlie Owen is a brilliant writer and I hope that he carries on with this superb series of books. The characters are fabulous and certain sections of the book leave you laughing out very loudly. Brilliant and lets hope he continues to write more.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are the Best, Most realistic Police/crime Books in the Business, 2 Nov 2009
Where do you start? Charlie Owen has done it again. All our favourite characters from Horses Arse and Foxtrot Oscar are back and we're learning more about them as they punch, kick, smash and fabricate their way through the scum of the fictional town of Hanstead, Greater Manchester. Forget any other fictional Police story. This is written by a real copper and seems lifted from the experiences from a real Police career. The authenticity is second to none. The humour dark and crude(as it needs to be to do "the job" everyday) and the action, detailed and gritty. If the Police nowadays were allowed to be half as tough as the officers from Hanstead in the 70s, we'd be living in a far nicer country!!!

Can't wait for films!!!!
