All life is full of challenges so when you know that your own child is going to face something that they may not be sure about, its great to help bring something a little different to the fore so that they can not only associate with the lead character but also find that through bravery and of course facing their fear that they can overcome it.

Here within this book is a story of a little owl who whilst the smallest was the one that overcame her greatest fear and managed to do something special. It shows that determination is key and also helps enforce a positive message for young readers. Add to this some wonderful artwork from Sean Julian and all in it's a great story for readers. Magical

Grandpa owl wants to give Grandma owl a special birthday present, so when the baby owls say they want to learn to fly, he thinks it a good idea, all except Little Owl, who doesn't want to. Her brothers and sisters make fun and say she's scared and as they learn to fly, she struggles and has accidents, ending up on the floor, where she meets lots of other baby animals. Eventually Grandpa finds her and she learns to fly and joins the party, which is grandma's favourite surprise of all. Beautiful shiny moon on the front cover and a fold out page at the back as little owl learns to fly. A mixture of full page and cameo drawings with appealing, colourful animals. The moral of the story is overcoming fear and everyone can learn if they try. A feel good book.
