This is the first time I've even used an epilator and what an awesome alternative to shaving!!!
I have extremely sensitive skin and get really bad rashes from shaving so was looking for an alternative to shaving that would not cost me a fortune. I did some research on the internet and read a lot of reviews on epilating vs. shaving vs. waxing and finally decided to give the epilator a go. Yes - the first time is a bit painful but honestly if you can wax then you can definitely use the epilator. Personally I think epilating isn't even half as painful as waxing!
As for the actual product - the Braun Silk-epil Xelle5280 - it's really a pretty neat little machine and personally I don't think you need anything more fancy than this! Basically the more expensive braun epilators just have the wetndry option (don't know why as all the reviews on the internet say that the epilator work much better on dry skin), is re-chargeable and has one or two more attachment for your face ... which I don't think is really necessary at all as it works perfectly fine without these attachments. When I did my research about all the epilator products out there, I actually read more complaints on the more expensive epilators. The main concern / complaints are about the short battery life. You get half way through your one leg and then the batteries die on you. Then you have to wait for it to recharge all over before you can use it again... what a mission!! The 5280 model in this case is much better as it works with a power cord so you always have super power throughout. I still need to find someone's review that will convince me that there is actually a real benefit in buying the more expensive epilator as I truely believe this product does exactly what the other products do and won't die on you!

This epilator is actually fantastic! I've had a different epilator for a few years, and since I am now a convert I thought I would invest a bit more in a better one. I am so glad I did, I thought the one I had before was good...but this one is great!
The 40 tweezer heads means that almost all the hair is caught in one stroke, the the light makes it easy to see which ones have been missed. It's also great that it comes with an ice glove, but I haven't had to use it because it's a really gentle epilator.
It's really fast and a pleasure to use. One thing to be aware of is that it does come with a two pin plug. Which isn't a huge deal because you can order an adapter at the same time for a few £'s. Make sure you do thought because when it arrives you wont be able to contain your excitement in wanting to try it :)

I used this product within a couple of days of receiving it (delivery was very prompt btw) that is over three weeks ago now, and I've not had to use it again since! No regrowth. Excellent product, and even though I thought the light was a gimmick at first (if I can't find my way around my own body by now....) it turns out to be an incredibly useful tool. The hedge trimmer ( ;-p )for those of us who had left it a while between sessions, is also a great add on.
