Not just for baby food!,
By
This review is from: Braun MR4050HC Minipimer Handblender (Kitchen & Home)
I bought one of these to mush up baby food when my little one was at the 'mushed up' stage. It's great for that. When he got beyond 'mushy', I put the thing back in the cupboard and didn't think any more about it until, the other day, I saw it sitting there and decided to take a closer look. Well, having put this powerful little gadget to the test, there is no way it's going to be spending prolonged periods at the back of the cupboard anymore!
It's great for making smoothies etc, using the big plastic beaker that comes supplied and the wand attachment. You can also use this for smoothing out your soups in the pan, although given that the wand is plastic, you might want to leave it to cool a bit before you let fly! The mini-chopper attachment is wonderful. I've used it for chopping herbs, onions, potatoes, and it has coped really well with all of this. When I looked closely at the spec, I wasn't surprised it was so effective - it's more powerful than my full-sized food processor! The balloon whisk attachment is ideal for beating eggs etc. A machine that is good at its job is one thing (and this is very good at it's job), but if it is tricky to use, or difficult to clean, then you can forget it as far as I'm concerned. Thankfully, this is neither. It's really easy to change the attachments, and each one is so easy to clean. I'm really pleased I rummaged through my cupboards the other day, and really delighted that I found this! Almost as nice as finding a £20 pound note, which is all you'd need to buy this little beauty at the moment. Go on, treat yourself!

Great kitchen tool,

I'm glad someone else rates this tool well. I have been using mine for 3 years. I have used all the functions and they met my needs:
bowl blender... vegetables and fruits can be finished anywhere from medium-chopped to textured-puree depending on how long you choose to process for. wand blender... turns everything into a smooth puree either in the pan or using the tall cup - its so powerful that it sucks the mixture through and you barely have to stir. balloon whisk... merangue/souffle egg whites, pancake batter & cream no problem. On top of this its so simple to unassemble and rebuild whether for cleaning or for making recipes (ie: fine chop onion in bowl, then switch power source to whisk eggs in tall cup). For £20 its a great invention.
