5.0 out of 5 stars Choro: The heart of brasil 5 Jan 2009
Format:DVD
This documentary/film is an incredibly emotional journey to the heart of southern Brasil, and in the small alleys where they play "choro", the traditional music. Something like jazz, but not quite, the "choro" is a music that needs to be listened to in order to be understood, and this movie has a lot.

This DVD is the real thing. Wonderful footage of Brazilians playing Brazilian music. For me the star is Yamandu Costa. He is on another level when it comes to performing.

Mostly acoustic renditions of traditional Brazilian folk and popular
songs from Northeastern Brazil in her deep, warm, and lucid
phrasing. Every single song envelops the listener into a quiet space.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favourite Music DVD 14 Dec 2006
By J. D. Fh - Published on Amazon.com
Format:DVD
I have a small collection of Music DVDs from Brasil and this one is my favourite. Bethania is at her best. The arrangements are spetacular and the repertoire is superb. It includes older Brazilian songs (Pastorinhas) to Classic MBP (O que e', o que e'). Miucha and Nana Caymmi are also guests to Bethania's show.
