The first thing i liked about theses headphones was the packaging really well done and it came with a little hardcase to keep the headphones when not being used.
These headphones are very well built and the wire used is of a very good quality this surprised me for the price i paid for them.
Sound quality the first thing i noticed was the bass it was deep and low but not boomy it was a nice bass that extended quite well . the mids were good as well slightly recessed but still ok...the treble is good with no shrill at all which i like..
Overall these are very good headphone with a rich deep and extended bass good mids and treble ,i certainly would recommend these!!

I've had a fair few in ear headphones in my time, the most notable being a well amped pair of the Shure SE530 IEMs. Despite how beauiful they sounded I needed some extra cash and got these as a replacement. I must say I'm very impressed with how great these headphones sound. The bass is well balanced and never interferes with the highs/mids. Great detail overall, if not a little small soundstage. All in all I think your going to have a hard time finding anything that sounds better at this price. Build quality good (tangle resistant cable does its job), as well as some nice accessories included.

Brainwavz make a whole range of earphones.
The common factor running through the range is quality and attention to detail.

These M2s are no exception.
They ooze quality.
So far I reviewed three other Brainwavz headphones so I am getting to know what I am talking about.
As I say I have reviewed a budget, a middle value and a high value set.
I should use the adjective high cost rather than high value for all the Brainwavz are great value.
Good construction, a good to great sound and attention to detail.

This attention to detail just makes getting a set of Brainwavz a choice for headphones.

These are a higher end middle costing set.
By that I mean they are higher priced but really good value for they are top class.

They do look really smart and high quality.
Now that is important.
I have saud in previous reviews, and I make no apology repeating it again here, looks are important.

If they look rubbish even though the sound may be great you will always wish they looked better or that you had bought a better looking set.
If you are a teenager or the parent of one you will realise all too well that looks and label are everything to that age group. As the father of a 17 year old tech savvy son I do appreciate that looks, face and brand are everything for his generation.
If you buy a set with a rubbishy looking box poorly presented they will simply not use them however good they are.

Before I get to the sound which is THE biggest and most important aspect I need to comment upon the packaging.

The presentation and the box are excellent.
Then again Brainwavz always look like they really care for their products and the presentation of them (reasons see above!

Note: The manufacturer sent me a review sample, no attempt was made to influence my opinion

This is the second set of Brainwavz heaphones I've reviewed, and the quality is as before very good. The package is comprehensive including a large selection of tips to suit all ear sizes, and colour coded too. You also get the Comply foam buds which are the choice of many users (these mould to the shape of the ear canal and and very comfy as well as blocking out sound from outside)

To top if off you get a very nice carry case where you can store the tips and phones, also included is a shirt clip. Cable length is 1.3m (slightly longer than some)

Quality is very good with nicely constructed oxygen free cable, solid feeling metal body, and as expected a right angle gold plated 3.5mm plug

Testing on my normal set up the Asus Xonar PC sound card (this is capable of a very high SNR and with superb tonal seperation)
The M2's did very well indeed with punchy, deep but tight bass response and a good seperation of mid tones and treble. I found the M2's a bit more to my taste over the S1 phones (these have a warmer tone to my ears). Even at higher volume levels there was no sign of distortion and the accoustic response was balanced and very pleasing. The bass whilst strong never swamped the other channels and even complex songs with many tracks were clean and crisp.

Playing a wide selction of songs (different styles) the M2's did very well across the board from rap to pop, and even accoustic and instrumental tunes sounded good. The warmer tone is suited to a broad selection of music and I can recommend these whatever your particular taste is.

Very nicely made, quality packaging and bundle the M2's are a winner all round

Brainwavz sent me these earphones to test and review. I have tried a number of their earphones and headphones now and every set has been very good. These M2 earphones are no exception, with very good sound and build quality. They come with a neat, robust carrying case, a good variety of ear-buds and a shirt-clip (of which more later).

The earphones are wired (not Bluetooth) and have a connecting cable which is apparently silver-plated giving very good reproduction. The jack is gold-plated. The earphones themselves are machined aluminium with exchangeable silicone buds and the whole thing is of very good quality

For earphones in this range the sound is excellent and very well-balanced. The middles are rich and there is a very firm bass, with bright but not over-bright treble. I have a Test Playlist which I use for audio products beginning with 15th Century choral music, ending up with The Rolling Stones, Leonard Cohen and London Grammar and going through most things in between. The M2s perform well on everything. They have an excellent bass – for example, an archlute and viola da gamba both sound great and the resonant sub-bass in the second half of London Grammar's Hey Now is thrillingly punchy. There is clear, articulate sound throughout the frequency range and volume goes louder than I would ever want without hiss or distortion. For in-ear phones at this price they are remarkably good.

Position is everything with earphones like this, so be prepared for some fiddling about until you find the buds which suit you. There are seven different pairs supplied, including a pair of Comply memory foam buds, so you'll get the right ones for you eventually.
