Very good book, a collection of stories by different authors with the main theme being space going vessels that are controlled by living brains.
The first story is of a little girl whose pre natal accident left her with only her brain functioning.
She overcomes her plight by becoming a "Shell person."
The first person to do so who had not been a shell person from birth.
This story is written with sensitivity and thought provoking prose, wish I had written it.
The other stories follow similar lines.
A very good read and one that I recommend with a plate of sandwiches, a flask of tea and a big box of tissues.
