Product Description

'A fresh and accomplished rendition of a much loved Symphony, very well played and recorded.' --MusicWeb International

'It was only a matter of time before Thomas Dausgaard and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra included Brahms as part of their worthwhile Opening Doors series...As before, the SACD sound makes for a sympathetic perspective on forces whose impact is far from being merely small-scale...Clearly Dausgaard and the SCO remain as intent on 'opening doors' as they ever were.' --International Record Review, June 2013

fast and light - an interesting alternative interpretation but I prefer the philharmonia cycle of brahms symphonies and the chandos set
