The Heart of the Grampian Mountains.... 19 April 2009

Ordnance Survey Landranger Map #43 cover the heart of the Grampian Mountains in the Scottish Highlands, the area around the town of Braemar, home to a superb Highland Games and entrance to Royal Deeside from the South. At a scale of 1:50,000, this detailed multicolor map enables navigation from Glen Feshie and Blair Atholl in the west through Braemar and south to the Spital of Glenshee. Roads are relatively scare and of uneven quality in this region of Scotland, making this map all the more important to getting around. The detail of the map is sufficient to locate the more prominent walking trails, although perhaps not for cross-country bushwacking. The map legend is helpfully listed in English, French, and German.

Ordnance Survey Landranger Map # 43 Braemar and Blair Atholl is very highly recommended as a planning and navigation aid for anyone planning a walking or driving visit into the heart of the Grampian Mountains.
