Book Description

12 Aug 2011
Gil Graham wanted a job in the movies, but when he enters the offices of James Rosen, one of Hollywood's toughest new-style movie producers, he gets more than he had bargained for. Gil soon discovers that he has a lot of what the hunky young men working on the film want and before long he's giving it to them every way they want it. The glamorous - and sometimes not-so-glamorous - movie business forms the backdrop to this carnal tale acted out in Rome's sultry streets; a Vice City where everything is for sale. But by the end Gil finds something more valuable than a career...

When Bruno Gmunder released the graphic novel Bike Boy and Hot For Boys - The Sexy Adventures of Rogue, as well as the soon to be released Bike Boy Rides Again, it was hoped that the publisher might look to Him's Gay Library, which was a series of illustrated text novels published in the early 1980s by Him Publications. The first in the library was Boys Of Vice City, a delightfully homo-erotic story of love and lust beautifully illustrated by Oliver Frey, otherwise known as Zack.
And now the dream comes true as that original story is reproduced in its entirety in a handy-size book and contains the fabulous artwork of Zack. Hopefully, this will be the first in a series, reprinting all the original Him Gay Library.
Lovers of homo-erotic art and homo-erotic storytelling will want to add this book to their library although it should be advised that anyone offended by gay sex should definitely refrain from purchasing...or at least think about it, or maybe purchase for a friend as a gift, or simply allow their curiosity to get the better of them. Definitely for adults only, though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Biker Boy without the bike. 24 Sep 2011
By Steve
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Gil is a cute young guy from California, whose sexy looks get him a job on a film set in Rome. Given that the author/illustrator is Zack, Gil quickly finds himself in a series of lusciously lewd adventures, lovingly illustrated. The secret of the book's success is that Gil is genuinely innocent as well as insatiably horny, his charm is captivating and the adventures arousing. A classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Roman romp 21 April 2012
By Xavier
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Boys of Vice City is a series of sexual encounters between a young man (who has been employed to help on a film set that takes him to Italy) and other film crew members, actors and locals. The stories are the reminiscences of this young man, now a film director himself, memories awakened when he catches sight of a young crew member who reminds him of the naive young man he once was. The book is well written and the encounters that fill each chapter make for an enjoyable Roman romp with the main character Gil Graham. It is also a coming of age story as Gil discovers more of the real world and what you have to do to make your way in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Gritty Illustrated Gay Erotic Literature 19 July 2012
By Tom (Just one Tom) - Published on
Much of the story involves a film studio in Italy. The 20 year-old main character gains much experience in this gay erotic adventure. The book is very gritty and right from the start includes barely consensual sex in the form of a forced (by authority not violence) sex scene with an Italian customs inspector who starts out claiming to be searching the protagonist for drugs but ends up sexually molesting the boy..From there our young American lad goes to work for a film studio and becomes the object of lust from his co-workers. This excellent work has extraordinary pen and ink illustrations which are pure artistic genius. These fine art illustrations are highly regarded internationally by Zack fans who have created somewhat of a cult with their devotion to his art which is widely regarded as the best in gay imagery. 4.0 out of 5 stars HOW TO SUCCEED IN THE MOVIE BUSINESS 15 May 2014
By Anthony McGill - Published on
Oliver Frey (aka Zack) has provided the reader with his usual array of hotter than hot drawings and his partner Roger Kean the written words as they follow the adventures of spunky Gil Graham and his introduction to the movie business, circa 1980, when this book was first published. Unlike the "Bike Boy" and "Rogue" comic book series, this one is a 170 page trade paperback novel with black and white illustrations. Employed by a Hollywood producer more interested in what Gil has packed in his Levi's than anything else, our young hero begins as a gofer on an Italian film set. He doesn't even get through customs without being ravaged so you can imagine what activities lay in wait for him on the Cinecitta film set and in the back streets and secret sex clubs of Rome. Fortunately for all, he gets to share his sexual activities with us and find true love with new found buddy, the equally divine and hunky Mike. Kean and Frey have combined to write a very horny story -porn with style- with steamy sexual situations with appropriately explicit illustrations in this excellent boy sex fantasy.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Artist as Writer 12 July 2012
By Emilio - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book was apparently the first writing exercise from an artist, Zack, better known for his graphic art books. It was very simplistic and lacked richness of detail and developed characters. I can't recommend it.

I was expecting a cartoon book, but it is not. I have not started to read this book yet. Will see how interesting it is. I will update this review after I read the book.
