Stuck in an office with no air conditioning? Why not get some of your own? No, we're not talking about those little motorised fans you used to buy when you were at school - this is a proper personal cooling system, ideal for use at work or at home. The Desktop Air Conditioner doesn't use chemicals, but ordinary tap water, so it's environmentally friendly, simple to use and economical too, running off just two "D" batteries. All you do is fill the bottle provided with fresh water, freeze it, then place it in the conditioner's chamber, and when you switch the power on, you'll get a cool, fresh breeze to take away the sweat of a hot Summer's day.

This is a good buy, but there is one problem.They give you ONE bottle to fill with water then you have to stick it in the freezer. Once you put it in the unit and it melts you have to put it back in the freezer. During that time you are burning from the heat.

My room was like a oven over the hot weather. I got this and found it pretty good. The bottle lasts about 2-3 hours before replacing. But using plastic bottles only means u need about three in the freezer as replacements. Then you got it made. Use can use a DC adapter. Nice and simple. Easy breeze that doesn't make you almost fall asleep when it blows in your face.

All in all, you can't really expect too much for the price, but you turn on the system, and you can hardly feel the breeze.
It's slightly better once you put the bottle of ice in there, but you still have to have it sitting 1ft away from you for it to do much at all.
Still, in the recent heat, even the meagre cooling effect this has is nice, as it at least cools you a little
