A tear-jerking, laugh a minute story of 3 women,

This review is from: Boys on the Side [VHS] [1995] (VHS Tape)
My favourite film of all time. The acting is fabulous. It has that rare ability to make you laugh and cry both at the same time. It's a modern Thelma and Louise, packed with girl power. The story of love, friendship, freedom and death will pull on your heart strings. It's wonderful- plain and simple.

I absolutely love this movie and have watched it several times over. The script is brilliant and you'll find yourself in fits of laughter quite often although be warned tissues may be needed too.
Two women (Whoopi Goldberg and Mary-Louise Parker) agree to travel cross-country together even though they don't know each other in order to share the cost and for safety. On the way they acquire another member (Drew Barrymore) who is an old friend of Whoopi Goldberg's character. The three women are different in almost every way but soon become good friends sharing laughs and tears. A story about a journey of the heart, true friendship and the hardships it can conquer. Touching and absolutely hilarious this is a movie that should not be missed.

Three women headed in the same direction, nothing in common really. It starts with a road trip but quickly develops as the three girls become close friends. There are a couple of twists - some you see coming and some you don't. The film is very funny and even though I've seen it about a billion times it still makes me giggle and cry. Whoopi Goldberg is on top form in this playing a semi serious charator. If you don't like this film you must be insane
