This wonderful new collection of hot erotic stories is everything I have come to expect from John Patrick.As always,it focuses on horny young men but this time from a different point of view.As the title suggests the the new element is that the "boys" take the initiative in their erotic encounters.In all the stories the protagonists share a sexual aggressiveness and a constant insatiability,whether they are first-timers or hardened hustlers into S/M.I particularly liked the story "Shakedown" by Corbin Chezner.It is about a correctional officer and his hot encounters with his boss,a colleague and a prisoner.Very good were also "C'mon Kid" by R.J.Masters(about a rookie police officer and his partner) and "Dutch Treat" by Rudy Roberts(about two young men having a glorious time in Amsterdam).In addition the book includes a special section of cowboy stories,focusing mostly on the fetish of the cowboy attire(the hat,the boots,the works!).Finally the reader is treated with two raunchy bonus novellas that "act" as a sumptuous dessert to a marathon feast of memorable gay erotica!

Having a keen interest in the subject for an extended period of time, I was pleased after finally taking the courage to buy this cracking read. The perfect bed-time read for enthusiast and friends alike. After this first purchase and seeing the fluidity of the writing, it has encouraged me to buy many more books on this, generally thought of 'taboo' subject. I really want to recommend 'Boys on the Prowl' as it increased my strength and ability to come to terms with my own sexuality after the difficulties of coming 'out of the closet' at my Yorkshire Public School!

An interesting collection of erotic stories from John Patrick. I particularly liked the story "Shakedown" by Corbin Chezner about a prison officer and his boss. I also liked "Dutch Treat" by Rudy Roberts about two young men on holiday in Amsterdam). All in all, a nice way to relax before going to sleep....
