If you had seven pages to tell a memorable short story, North Morgan has done it in one paragraph in Exit Through The Wound. This is a compelling tale of every migrant visiting their home country. A country which they no longer consider home but are attached to by family or cultural heritage. Morgan skilfully crafts the words of the pain he feels being a stranger in a place he no longer identifies with - a wound he has tried to escape. He leaves readers wondering if he's leaving once again through the same wound he's tried to exit. And whether he will succeed once and for all.

I bought this simply of the back of Mr Burston's involvement having been a huge fan of his "Gay Divorcee" (a brilliant read in it's own right - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gay-Divorcee-Paul-Burston/dp/0751542369/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1284568040&sr=8-4 ). I wasn't disappointed.

For the Boys, beyond Paul's own story, "The Unbearable Bear", the other stories in the collection are enchanting, entertaining, humourous and heartfelt. "Folding Kits" by Daniel Llewellyn was a personal favourite although I have to admit I struggled a little with the style in which Joe Storey-Scott's "Bloom" was written.

On the girls side, I'll certainly be seeking out anything else written by Stella Duffy after her "Jail Bait" stood out for me as the best of an already excellent bunch although it's difficult to rate any above the other!

Of a different style, the chapters for Amber and Malichi are pretty heart wrenching, but also very affirming and underline the value of purhasing the book to The Albert Kennedy Trust, clearly a very worthy charity.

I can't recommend this book enough both from both an entertainment point of view and also as a donation to a charity most deserving of support.

I really enjoyed this collection of stories (once I'd worked out which way up to hold it!). The stories are by a number of different authors, some I'd heard of and many I hadn't, but they were all interesting, quite diverse and all in aid of a good cause too. My personal favourites were the stories written by North Morgan, Kristian Johns and Sophia Blackwell, but it's hard to pick out any really, I enjoyed them all.
