I saw this film for the first time last nite, and what can i say i loved it. Im a real sucker for these romantic comedy chick flicks, and this one was a classic which made me consider my own relationships, and how complicated relationships can be. Freddie Prinze Jr and Claire Forlani, seemed to have great on screen chemistry, which allowed you to understand the turmoil the characters were going through, and relate it to everyday life. In short i loved this film so much, that ive now ordered it, and cant wait to watch it again. if only there were more good honest romantic comedies out there, instead of the run of the mill pap we receive from this genre.

This is one of them films that you see at first and think, "oh, it's one of them cheesy romantic films!". But you'd be very much mistaken.
Freddie Prinze plays the dorky, bookworm guy who likes everything planned, while Claire Forlani is the girl who is outgoing, as she lives life as a free-spirit.
They meet on various (some funny) occasions throughout their lives but end up becoming the best of friends at university. After both being unsuccessful in finding love, they spend one night together which changes their lives forever!
Jason Biggs also plays the hilarious room mate, who needs Freddie's help to understand what women actually want from a man. He provides a great supporting role and helps pump up the fun.
A very good film!

I like many kinds of film, from Argento/Fulci OTT horror to Leslie Nielsen slapstick comedy, stopping off at Usual Suspects-esque cleverness, Arnie-the-action-hero stupidity and all manner of cult films in between.
One genre I've always steered clear of is teen films (more specifically the romance ones, as I love Mallrats and its ilk) - my sister has an unexplainable love of films such as Get Over It, which I can't stand. So all in all I must have been pretty bored when I decided to watch this film, which I came upon by chance at 4.00 in the morning while flicking through the Sky movie channels. After about 20 minutes, I realised that I quite liked this film; by the end, I knew I loved it, and was wondering what was wrong with me.
Having steered clear of the majority of such films, I didn't recognise the Ryan-actor as Freddie Prinze Jr; I did however recognise Claire Forlani as the lovely Jennifer, primarily because of her role as Brandi Svenning in Mallrats but also as the waitress in Mystery Men and the daughter in The Rock.
I think the plot is fairly generic, an image not dispelled by possibly the cheesiest name for a film in a long time. But, besides the fact that Claire Forlani is just all kinds of nice, this film somehow involves you with its characters and events, so that you feel as if you know them, and really want everything to work out.
Its not as if this is the first thing to achieve this - I personally got over-involved with Final Fantasy 8, Blackadder, Back to the Future and many others, to the point that I got depressed when bad things happened to the people in them.

Boys and Girls is an entertaining film. Both Freddie Prinze Jr and Claire Forlani put in good performances. But for me Jason Biggs was the show stealer, he just reminds me of Jim Carrey!
It is one of those films where you knew what would happen, but everyone did a good job of getting there. I only know a couple of films that Freddie Prinze Jr and Claire Forlani have been in, but they looked good together.

Not as good as when Harry met Sally but close, doesn't have the same comedy but easy to empathise with the characters even though its obvious they will end up together its nice to watch their relationship progress. A little slow to start but nice easy watching romcom

Boys and Girls was a pleasant movie that much like the typical romance has many parts that are quite obvious, but in a way, that was the point and toward the close of the movie, some of the interaction is done well and made believable. What would anyone expect of a teenage based romance..?
