I loved this film. I just got done watching it and I had to share my opinions and feelings with anyone. The film is so well done by everyone on screen (and those not featured on screen). I cannot fault this film there was no bad I saw or found. The cast give wonderful performances. There is chemistry to spare between them all. I even managed to shed a tear at one point during the film. All the guys are hot save for the elderly gentleman that X spends some of the film with. For those worried about the super sexually explicit and graphic sex scenes, you have absolutely nothing to worry about, coz there aren't any. There's a little nudity (nice) and masses of innuendo but that's about it. This is a gay film about sex maybe but it doesn't have the gratuitous couplings of other films. In my own opinion this is one of thee bed films I have seen in a good long while. And it's become one of my all time favourites. As the latest client of X's Patrick Bauchau oozes that charm and his voice is as mesmerising as it was in A View to a Kill. Derek Magyar as the protagonist is dreamy and delectable and more than enough to watch. Darryl Stephens as one of X's two roommates is handsome and appealing. Jonathon Trent as Joey, the other roommate, is entertaining and totally convincing. Finally Emily Brooke Hands is tremendous as the obligatory lesbian. I cannot recommend this film highly enough. This is a brilliant, excellent film and I am glad that I bought it. Once again the guys are hot.

Loved this and the only reason I didnt give 5 stars was that I dont think it could totally decide what type of film it wished to be . One moment it is the usual 3 flirty boys having fun in a flat share, who loves who yawn etc. then it becomes altogether more interesting and actually makes you think . Discussing what is the difference between promiscuous sex v working as an escort . Old / young sex. i really enjoyed all the clever twists at the end and thought Patrick Bauchau was great . if just wanting another gay rom com then this wont please you .

Enter the world of a high class male prostitute living in a loft apartment situated in Seattle. When he is not working, he is gardening on the roof terrace, playing with stock market and writing his memoires. Pure escapism!

To make things more interesting and sexier he shares his living space with drop dead gorgeous black guy (his secret heartache) and barely legal party boy. Then he meets a new client, in his own words an old geezer, and things start to get complicated. Old eloquent gentleman is telling him the story of true love, "till death do us apart" affair. It makes a strong impression on the strictly business hustler so he starts to pursue long time romantic obsession over his room mate. It is a tentative dance in which, surprisingly, an experienced hooker is acting like a blushing virgin. As you can imagine it all ends over the top romantically.

This said, it is nicely executed, very entertaining and actors are not just sex on legs. BUT not food for thoughts - if you want deep pondering after the movie with hustler motive, I'd recommend STRAPPED and old time classic MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO.

Boy Culture is actually smart and somewhat entertaining movie. It's a low budget movie; I personally think with the right funds and some more script tweaking it could have been better, but I don't think we ask that from gay-themed movies. Not if 'Another Gay Movie' is anything to go by.

The movie is centered around X who documenting his life. It's really an interesting concept, and for once a movie from TLA actually uses some originality. He's a highly paid male escort, who only caters to the need of a certain list of clients. Funny thing is X didn't mean to go and fall for his roommate.

It's all very non interesting when written down, but the acting wasn't horrendous and have to admit Derek Magyar did a good job. His acting with the some okay writing might have saved this film, for being another 'do not watch' gay-themed movie.

The movie is based on the book written by Matthew Rettenmund.

'Boy Culture' - exactly what it says on the tin. This film develops quite slowly and at times can be morose, but the darker moments are well balanced with true to life humour. Kept us watching, in hope of a happy ending. Would appeal, I am sure, to a broad audience.

No offence, but the three superstuds on the cover of 'Boy Culture' suggest this film to be a shallow portrait of well toned bodies, wild parties and explicit sex. The summary on the back, however, already took away some rough edges. So I bought this one. I remembered having watched the trailer earlier. As it turned out I was pleasantly surprised. It's main storyline was nothing short of a comprehensive study into the sex/love combination. With plenty of humour thrown in, it 'reads' like a 'can't put down novel'. BC features many aspects of relationships, ig; monogamic, promiscuous, prostitute/client, young/old, as well as broken relations, friendship, partnership and marriage. Well cast for their parts, the 3 leads should - I think - have been Oscar nominated for their outstanding performances. All in all, I think BC very intellingent, sensitve and sexy. Glad I bought it!
