This book will not give you any great insights to the world of boxing on a sporting or political viewpoint, it will however, give you lots of daft and someties unbelievable stories from the history of the ring to tell your mates in the pub. It is literally a fun read, a bit of light entertainment and it is entertaining. Stories include "the Real Rocky", "the Crying Heavyweight" and dozens more. Worth getting if only to take a look at the lighter side of getting your head punched in!

I bought this as a way of delving into in no particular order as I passed the time on my daily train commute to work. The book, I believe, is best treated when you don't want anything time consuming to read as the many events here are conveniently spread into very short texts. As an avid historical boxing reader, I prefer reading of the historical events of decades long past and this proved a good entertaining factor of the book. The only negative was that the back cover was heavily creased and the page edges had black marks on them.Otherwise a good, fun read.
