I have been working out in various martial arts for 20+ years and have lots of "how to books" this is by far the best martial arts/boxing book I have read in terms of a realistic weights, plyometrics and ton-up's routine/suggestions.....anyone looking to take up boxing should buy this as it covers most aspects that can be taught without a coach and apart from a small section in Joe Frasiers book (which is only a small bodyweight workout) is the only book I have read dedicated to boxing that has a good weights section, also, covers running, sprints, diet, technique etc and Gary Blower is an ABA coach - so you know his information is up-to-date and being taught to good boxers and is proven.

Great reference! 7 Nov 2010
I own this book and am impressed with the detail and the pictures that accompany the manuscript. This is written in easy to understand terms and if you're a coach like me is a very useful reference when needed. I thoroughly recommend this book to coaches and boxers alike.

I thought that this was a worthwhile purchase, as along with popping to my local Boxing Club, I also train in my garage on the slam man / punch bag. This book gave me various skills to practise and some good workouts too.
For my purpose I thought it was good and have enjoyed referring to the book when training.
