As a package, this is a great testament to Whitesnake at their best. I followed them from the Back To The Roots tour and saw them as often as possible in London and the South. Truly awesome in concert they were just the most exciting band with the blend of blues and rock with a style that was so dynamic. The elements provided by the musicians in the band were so exciting and fresh, the pleasure in the playing was infectious and being in the audience at their shows was just incredible, every gig was a night to remember. The book in the package is superb, beautifully produced and well written, great to see all the photographs and artwork reproduced, only slight negative for me are the pages that are just straight reproductions of tour programme pages, also it might have been nice with some input from the other band members? The Reading performances were awesome and it's great to have 'legal' copies now, as well as the Washington show, a rare film of Whitesnake at their best and most powerful, working hard to try and get that American breakthrough. All self-respecting fans will have the albums already on CD so it would have been nice if an out-take or two could have been included on each disc, but all in all, this is money well spent. By Saints and Sinners the band were losing their fire, and so this is a very apt position for the set to end. What a band, so many memories flood back. Coverdale, Marsden, Moody, Murray,Lord and Paice I salute you. A phenomenal band represented in this box. Actually, much maligned too in this era.... many Purple fans never really took them seriously, but they seriously missed out. Listen to Coverdale singing Mistreated at Reading, 79 or 80, for example....no performance before or after can touch them for passion and power. Every department...just the best. Happy with my Box 'o' Snakes.
