I've never been much of a Blink 182 fan, although I'm quite impressed with their newest album, but as soon as i heard this album, i was in love with it! Tom's voice blends well with the guitar riffs, and there are also some softer songs on the album like Cat Like Theif and There Is. If you are looking for an album that has good guitar riffs, but is not as annoying as the Blink 182 albums then choose boxcar racer. Another excellent song on the album is Watch The World which is cute and also a brilliant song.

Blink-182' men, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker, have really gone "old school" on this album, the pairs side project, entitled BOXCAR RACER. And this, there debut album, really brings out a different side to the highly comedic duo......you won't find any comedy tracks on this album, oh no! [well maybe 'My First Punk Song'......].......but you WILL find driving Guitar riffs, ear shattering drum beats, and........well the very recognizable nasal tone of Tom Delonge's voice!! But not in the usual way....this time around, tom doesn't deal with break ups, oh no! he sings about Government Conspiracies, and Death ['Letters To God']......he sings about suicide ['Elevator'] and there is even an instruemntal on there as well!!....and of course, guest vocals from Tim Armstrong [Rancid] Mark Hoppus [the pairs Blink-182 comapnion] and Jordan Pudnik [New Found Glory]..........so if you are looking for a fix of speed fuelled pop-punk, then this probably isn't the album for you!! but if you are looking for an album that points to the likes of The Refused and Fugazi for influences, then this is the album for you!!

If you are reading this you would be intrested in buying boxcar racer.I bought this album 6months back and still now it hasnt lost its superb lyrics, druming and guitar. The lyrics are written and sung by Tom Delonge (blink-182).The are much more serious, involving and emotional to that of blink. As you may know Travis Barker and Tom Delonge are in Blink-182 but Mark Hoppus has been left out...this has caused Boxcar Racer to split to save blink-182 but and a shame that is too.But the blink boys have grown up from the mom jokes and donkey f***ing. The highlights for me inclued 'there is','Letters to god','In the end with you' and 'Watch the world'.But on the whole the album is brilliant except for 'My first punk song' which is irritating.I highly recommend this album as it is great to listen to easily to get into and just amazing!I dont enjoy it as much as blink as the seriousness and the attitude is completly differnt but nevertheless it is good.I look forward to blink's new album out on 25th! :)

An Album like this only comes once in a while. having owned it for 2 years now I can confirm that it is timeless. For all Blink fans the purchase of this album is essential, and for all fans of punk, alternative, rock and emo I highly reccomend not missing out on this album. The technical skill and diversity of drummer Travis Barker on this album is inspiring, whilst Tom Delonge's Lyrics and guitar parts have taken a darker tone that can also be heard on Blink 182's new album. Songs like 'Cat like Thief', 'Tiny Voices', 'And I' and 'There Is' are some of the best while the only downfall of the whole album is 'My First Punk Song', which thankfully is quite brief. If you are even slightly contemplating the purchase of this album then I fully suggest you take a risk. It will pay off.

First off this aint Blink 182 so if your buying this because of that style you will be disappoiuted.
If however, you like the delightful sound of Tom De Lounges voice then you will like this. Its more serious, and more issue driven music. With great lyrics abuot such topics as the Governmenbt, Conspiracy and September 11th. In particualr the well known "I Feel So" is great track, as well as numerous other good tracks. "Watch the World" is another slow, melodic anthem.
Basically, the whole album is different from usual stuff from the Blink boys but in a great way. The album does have one or two tracks which arent 5 star but still good.
I would recommend this album for sure!

If ever a album had raw agression this would be it, personaly i would rank this album alonside blinks dude ranch, Delonge has seemingly broken away from the pop punk stylings of blink to write about much more emotional and serious things, and to have Mark sing on a small portion of elevator shows that Delonges voice suits the music more. With most blink albums there is usually a song fans could do without, but with this not so. Alongside the powerful guitar Travis Barkers as always skilled, fast drumming comes into play, the likes of 'and I' show why he is one of th ebest drummers in the world. In result BUY THIS ALBUM, its better than blink.

But ultimately the audience for this album is probably smaller than that of Blink-182's. There are 4 standout tracks for me, these being Watch The World, Letters To God, I Feel So and There Is, the latter in particular. I really wish There Is had been a Blink song, as it would have stood out as one of their finest, just as Even If She Falls would have given Neighborhoods an added boost. Nonetheless, Tom's semi-solo effort is a good one.
