Product Description

Synopsis

The Bowen Technique is a holistic therapy, originally developed in Australia. Bowen moves are a form of gentle but precise soft tissue manipulation. Energy is released by relaxing muscles and opening pathways. This handbook on the technique is illustrated with black-and-white photographs and line drawings which guide the reader through the various techniques involved. The book is intended as a reference guide whilst the student is being professionally taught as the subtleties of the technique are too complicated to learn without this instruction.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a VERY useful book!, 18 Nov 2007
This review is from: The Bowen Technique (Paperback)
If you have started training in the fascinating and effective Bowen Technique, got the bug and want to know more this book hits the spot. It quite responsibly does not give all the information you would receive in training, but it IS great as a reminder and reference manual. The pictures are clear and the language simple and easy to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bowen as per the book, 23 Jan 2010
This review is from: The Bowen Technique (Paperback)
This is a clearly laid out, logical, well written, in layman terms, comprehensive explanatory book on the method of Bowen Techniques. The author states at the beginning that it is not a 'how to do Bowen' book, as it is important to have hands-on experience under guidance. Having read the book I would agree. There are diagrams of the human skeletal frame and main muscle groups and tendons. Photographs demonstrate some moves and there are explanations of which moves can assist various health issues. At the back are some case studies where it is believed the Bowen Technique was successful. I would definitely recommend this book, if you are either 'just interested' in finding out more about Bowen, or if you are considering becoming a Bowen Practitioner.
