Product Description

• Eric Andersen’s second album, recorded in New York in 1965. It features Andersen accompanying himself on guitar and harmonica.

5.0 out of 5 stars finding a legend 1 April 2009
Format:Audio CD
had heard about about eric andersen but had never heard any of his music until i saw a concert on bbc4 americana series.he sang 2 songs and i was captivated by his voice and delivery so guess this was the place to start to discover more.he doesn"t disappoint at all,and tracks 1,4,7 and 11 are outstanding.i have been a huge fan of neil young and bob dylan for as long as i can remember and eric andersen can stand shoulder to shoulder along side them, but i guess those of you out there who discovered him long before i did, already knew that.have also bought memory of the future and blue rain and they get 5 stars as well and i intend to buy more from his extensive output.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Holds Up 5 Feb 2001
By John L. Bradley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is one of the classic folk albums to come out of the 60's. And it still holds up. "Violets of Dawn" and "Thirsty Boots" are considered the "big" songs, but listen to "Close the Door Lightly When You Go". A great song. I had the pleasure of seeing Anderson a number of years ago in person, at a small club in Roselle, New Jersey and he was teriffic. My advice would be to get "Today is the Highway" and "Blue River" as well. In fact Anderson sings "Blue River" on the first album he did with Danko/Fjield (a very under-rated album). He gets better with age.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember Eric Andersen? 14 Oct 2013
By Notary Sojac - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
At least one of his songs (Violets of Dawn) was praised by Bob Dylan, and there are several others that I've been listening to many times. Andersen is almost forgotten today, but he shouldn't be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best Ballad Singer of his times next to Tim Buckley and Tim Hardins 4 Mar 2009
By Byron H. Barsamian - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Bob Dylan: Eric Andersen is one of the best ballad singers I have listened
to. Now that is the truth and a true compliment. If you enjoy Dylan, you will like Andersen. He has the gift of reaching your mind and soul. If you
doubt me, listen to him first on You tube.
