The often breathtaking, final installment in the Bourne trilogy finds the titular assassin with no memory closing in on his past, finally answering his own questions about his real identity and how he came to be a seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Matt Damon returns for another intensely physical performance as Jason Bourne, the rogue operative at war with the CIA, which made him who and what he is and managed to kill his girlfriend in the series' second film, The Bourne Supremacy. Now looking for payback, Bourne goes in search for the renegade chief of CIA operations in Europe and North Africa, partnering for a time with a mysterious woman from his past (Julia Stiles) and constantly--constantly--on the run from assassins, intelligence foot soldiers, and cops. Directed by Paul Greengrass (United 93) with the director’s thrilling, trademark textures and shaky, documentary style, The Bourne Ultimatum is largely a succession of action scenes that reveal a lot about the story’s characters while they’re under duress. Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, and Paddy Considine comprise the film’s terrific supporting cast, and the well-traveled movie leads viewers through Turin, Madrid, Tangiers, Paris, London, and New York. Matt Damon was never on my list of favourite actors until The Bourne series. It's a cliché I know but Matt Damon was born to play Jason Bourne. I think that no film he's been in before or since has fitted him quite as well. For me, Matt Damon delivers his best performance yet in The Bourne Ultimatum.
If you are a fan of the first two Bourne movies, you will not be disappointed by The Bourne Ultimatum. For those who have seen the first two installments this installment fits all the information you've gathered in 'Identity' and 'Supremacy' and we finally see the full picture of Jason Bourne's troubled past.
The Bourne Ultimatum has a great plot and with fantastic action and fight sequences Ultimatum ranks as one of the best action movies of 2007.
If you are a fan of the first two Bourne movies, you will not be disappointed by The Bourne Ultimatum. if this had been the first bourne film it would have been o.k. however after the first two brilliant films it just had too much to do to match up. worth watching, but a bit of a let down.

Watched the first two others again in preparation and saw the Ultimatum Bank Holiday Monday, May 2009. Gripping thriller - left me exhausted as I fought every fight, drove in every car chase, remained covert as required while trying to stay alive and piece together the clues that bring this superb trilogy to a fab Ultimatum. Five stars from my wife and I :o)
