Synopsis

Features the action-packed Jason Bourne thrillers THE BOURNE IDENTITY, THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, and THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM.
In THE BOURNE IDENTITY, a man who may or may not be Jason Bourne is found floating in the Mediterranean Sea and is hauled onto a fishing boat. When the ship's doctor examines the unconscious castaway, he discovers two bullet wounds and an implanted device that displays a Swiss bank account number. With nothing but this code, the amnesiac Bourne travels to Zurich and gains access to a safe-deposit box containing a gun, thousands of dollars in various currencies, and valid passports from numerous countries--each listing a different identity. Within minutes, Bourne is on the run from a seemingly ever-present agency.
In THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, Bourne is forced out of hiding as the result of an attempt on his life and fulfills his earlier promise to wreak vengeance on his former CIA employers, some of whom may be in league with murderous Russians.
In THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, Jason Bourne searches for his own identity after a bout of amnesia, leading him on a globe-trekking trip in which he must avoid the zinging bullets of cops and assassins who are out to stop him before he uncovers the truth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sets a new standard, 11 April 2008
By Stephen B. Peddie (Surrey, UK) - See all my reviews

An absolutely ripping yarn from start to finish. Are they 1, 2 and 3 in the rankings of the action/adventure genre, or are they so exceptional they define their own category? Genuinely intelligent films, the Bourne movies make a ludicrous and infeasibly convoluted plot disturbingly convincing and utterly compelling. Criticism is possible, but frankly not worth the effort: well done to everyone involved.

If you don't enjoy these films, you must be a very unusual sort of individual.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bourne Ultimatum, 18 Nov 2007

I have found that making a sequel to a film is not always a good idea. Making two sequels to a film is an even greater risk. This movie certainly changed my mind, however. All of "The Bourne" movies are good, but in my opinion, this third one "The Bourne Ultimatum" is the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bond? Naaaaa. Bourne!!!!!!!!!!!, 3 Jan 2008
By a mile the best action thriller in history (or rather, the best I have seen). You are on the edge of your seat constantly and the climax is astonishing. Clever plots, amazing stunts (even my mum said 'Oh my God' during the Algiers rooftop bit - top notch!) and out of this world sub-zero (as in Top Gear board of cool) characters.

Matt Damon proves himself as a very solid actor, as do Julia Stiles and Joan Allen.

Bourne's audacity is fantastic and some his lines are the coolest lines in history:

'Get a little sleep Pam, your looking tired' (only cool in context) and 'Where are you?', 'I'm in my office', 'I doubt that', 'Why?', 'If you were in your office, we'd be having this conversation face to face.' (In a conversation between Bourne and a CIA agent respectively.)

Forget Bond; Bourne is the new king of cool.
