Book Description
Bound is a unique collection of short stories that is also a piece of art. Written by five authors, all living and working in the north east of England, each tale is completely individual and reflects each writer's attachment to their region. In order to properly read the stories, the reader must fold the pages along dotted lines as they go along; when finished, the book becomes a unique and amazing sculpture.
From the Inside Flap
Bound is a collection of short stories authored by writers who live and work in the north east of England and commissioned by New Writing North and Creative Partnerships Durham and Sunderland.
The book seeks to explore the creative impulses of the north east from the perspective of writers who live and work in the region. Bound also contains essays by the writers which explore their personal creative processes in relation to writing and ideas.
The book itself is also a work of art. Created by artist Tanya Axford in conjunction with designers Sumo, the Bound book also turns itself into a sculpture as you read it. Have fun.
