The danger that drew them together could send them over the edge…

Men of Honor, Book 4

Playing the role of enforcer in the Killers motorcycle club, all CIA operative Clint “Tomcat” Sommers has to do is make sure he has a body to show for his work. Thanks to his ability to move stealthily and easily between the two worlds, the CIA is damned close to making one of its biggest MC gang busts.

Two years undercover have taken their toll, but there’s no backing out now. Tomcat’s only reprieve from the pressure is fantasizing about the newest member of the gang.

Worry for his cousin’s involvement in the Killers drove Navy SEAL Jace Reynolds to agree to infiltrate the gang to do some short-term surveillance for the FBI. The deal: do the job, and his cousin gets witness protection. When he meets Tomcat, though, his fantasies kick into overdrive. Meeting men while on active duty is tough. Acting on his desires within the club could have deadly consequences.

Despite the risks, Tomcat’s and Jace’s off hours flare hotter than a full-throttle burnout. But the smoke is bound to attract unwanted attention. And when Tomcat suddenly disappears, the secrets both warriors keep could send one of them to the grave.

Warning: Contains two hot men undercover—and under the covers. Both with secrets under wraps that could cause everything to unravel in the deadliest way imaginable. If you’re inspired to try something new on a motorcycle, go for it. Just don’t blame the author for any pulled muscles.

This tale pretty much had it all - a great storyline/great leads/lots of hot sexy, and pretty equal sex, at that, despite one being a dom and the other happy to allow that/some heartache/some misunderstandings/some almost betrayal/a lack of trust, but once all came out in the open, I knew that these leads would end up lasting the distance.

The tale is one where undercover warrior meets undercover warrior, recognising the protector in each other, though nothing is openly admitted, which leads to some assumptions on both parts, and some sex that was almost a bit of a peeing contest, LOL!. The 'loss' of one lead was well done, and I thought that the fiction was well-maintained, though a little more anger, explanations and make-up sex wouldn't have gone amiss when the truth came out.

I liked that these leads were mature enough to be able to put aside differences when things were on the line, and that their actions proved their decency and loyalty, even if their lack of frank discussions - both deliberate and due to confidentiality - created problems for them. I liked that they 'broke up' more than once, and that their eventual coming together was emotional, felt heartfelt and left me feeling that these leads were in it for the long-term. To hear such hardened guys admit to tender feelings, was romantic, but in a totally non-soppy way. Kudos to the author for how she wrote these guys, who are perhaps the most likable pairing of the series so far.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bound to be honest 4 Dec 2012

I liked this book, it was soft bondage, different for other books in the genre as it was like I said much softer, predictable story, man with subby tendencies loses long term partner and goes searching for that missing something in his life. He of course finds it and you meet friends along the way and so can write another couple of books. This was the best of the three I have read and I think the author should have stopped here.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 stars 27 July 2012

Normally, I don't read BDSM-themed books unless they have a paranormal theme to them, but a review on Jessewave got me into this series and I absolutely adored book one, Bound by Honor. Book four is the latest installment and fans of the series will be happy to hear it is Tomcat's turn for romance.

Clint "Tomcat" Sommers was introduced in book two, he was a friend of Styx from the CIA. (Now, I did not read book two since it was a menage, so you could read this book and still figure out Clint's back-story.) Jace Reynolds, a Navy SEAL, knows Tomcat from his cousin's biker gang and is very interested in the other man. Jace knows Tomcat is undercover, but the danger of them being together doesn't stop the men from hooking up. However, when Tomcat's undercover gig is over, can these two men start a future together?

What I liked about this book is it took place over a long period of time. Clint and Jace's relationship goes from a few naughty weekends to caring deeply for one another in the first year of their relationship. The slow build and gradual development of their love story was a rare treat in a genre full of Insta-Love and quick HEA's. Plus, as with S.E. Jakes' other books, the sex scenes are off the charts! *fans self* Even a normally vanilla girl like myself thought the BDSM tinged trysts were scorching and propelled the plot and the main characters relationship along.

However, as much as I enjoyed Jace and Clint's relationship, there were some issues which caused me to drop my rating. (I rated book one as 5 stars on GR.) First, while Clint and his alter ego Tomcat were fascinating, once he was no longer undercover some of his actions seemed really stupid and flied in the face of any training he would have had as CIA agent. Second, plot lines were simply dropped in the middle of the novel. Clint had a crazy ex he used to hook up with who was being groomed to be the Big Bad, but he just sort of disappeared. Poof! I was a little perplexed when that happened and confused. Why bring the guy into the plot for it to go nowhere?

Third, the book went back and forth between Jace and Clint's story to another couple, Rex and Sawyer (both SEAL teammates of Jace's.) While I liked the Rex and Sawyer GFY plot it really detracted from Jace and Clint's relationship which should have been the main crux of the book. Now I appreciate a good sub-plot, but Sawyer and Rex's romance wasn't something I could get into while I was trying to enjoy Clint and Jace. I wish Ms. Jakes had left it for another book.

So, overall I like this series, but this book is not my favorite for the reasons indicated above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well-thought of narrative 2 Oct 2012

The concept of three well-crafted narratives that fit well in terms of plot development is commendable. Bound by Danger, which can be enjoyed as stand alone story, however is better appreciated with the other two - Bound by Honor and Bound by Law. I was anticipating for this fourth story, and it did not fail me. The plot is as exciting as the other two. The characters are emphatic and thrown in more than enough hot dom/sub encounters. I hope there will be more of this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting and Sexy 27 Jun 2012

Another great book in the Bound by Honor series! I couldn't put this book down. This story was about Tomcat, a character from the previous books, who is an undercover CIA agent. He meets a Navy SEAL named Jace who is also working black ops with the same motorcycle gang. They begin a tumultuous love affair that has to overcome two determined, career-oriented, strong-willed men with jobs that require secrecy and long periods away from home. It has hot sex, action and emotion. I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys M/M romance.

I never get tired of reading this Authors books. It was so good, the story is so amazing, the sex was off the charts and made you laugh too. I have read numerous books now from this Author and can't wait to read more. You should read all you can too, you will not regret it.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the series so far, with leads who were a little more open to personal feelings, and, eventually, admitting them. 14 Jun 2014
