i love one minute silence and own all their releases. this single is everything that i expected, rap with the brilliant oms trademark guitars. i feel they set themselves a standard with 'revolution' the previous ep which 'we bounce' fails to reach. its a good live song, catchy, but nothing suprising although it doesnt dicourage me form buying their new album!!!

Now, although I have a wide variety of musical taste, I've never really been into rap or hardcore-rap, or for that matter rap-rock, the only real exception for me being the rebellious Rage Against The Machine.

For those who don't know, One Minute Silence are a band who combine hard rock, with great riffs, with angry, soaring, excellently executed rap vocals, and even angrier clangy drumming. A lot like....yes, Rage Against The Machine, but at the same time quite the opposite.

Sure, One Minute Silence do have political issues (you only need to look at the picture on the top of the CD of an atom bomb with a thick red line through it, to see that), and they do have hard rocking guitars and an angry rapping vocalist, but the differences are many. You can hear the English accent in One Minute Silence's vocals, you can feel the anger, and that's not saying that RATM don't, this just hits a lot harder.

From the slow burning intro, straight into the hard-hitting bellowing chorus: ''I wear my skin, like it isn't a problem, but is it a problem for you?'', which hits harder than a frying pan around the top of your head, and continues without boredom for the next 2 and a bit minutes. The song is pretty short at 2 minutes 56 seconds, but it's all it needs to put the message across and leave you satisfied. The typing ''I Wear My Skin (Single Edit)'' suggests that the album version may be longer. The B-Sides never really come up to scratch, but they are good songs, it's just that they have to follow an absolute monster of grooving, big guitars and soaring, powerful vocals and lyrics.

If this is what is to be expected from the album this is taken from, ''One Lie Fits All'' then this is an esential purchase for any hard rock enthusiast.

5 Stars.
