I was seriously underwhelmed by this book. There is little evidence of the 'Excellence' of the title and it's only when you get in to it that you realise the authors speciality is shooting plus size girls. Nothing wrong with that per se, but it's NOT what it says on the cover. In fact if you look at the cover image carefully you'll see it's been cropped - to make a larger girl appear somewhat slimmer than she is inside. Now I'm a pretty average photographer but if these were my pictures they would not see the light of day in print.
Other gripes, when it comes to posing all the cliche's are there including the heel caught in knickers shot. Photographically some of the images demonstrate blown highlights, others are flat, some just badly constructed and many are just not boudoir.
Best bits: the last few pages where the author has added some images by other boudoir photographers.

This is an amazing little book. It gives brilliant tips and and ideas of things to look out for when posing models as well as plenty of images to use as ideas. It doesn't just stick to the skinny models either, but uses a range of normal and larger size models. The book does not give camera settings on the images, but if you are buying this book you should be able to work them out for yourself, if not its an excellent learning curve to try and recreate the images. I cannot recommed this enough if you are looking to branch into this area of photography.

Pocket size book which is packed with illustrations. Don't expect to find advice on lighting and equipment. This book is more about posing your model to gain the best effect and the photographs show this very well, more of "here we have a model in a standard pose but if you turn her slightly here and move this elbow forward it slims her and gets rid of ripples of fat" Very useful to bring the best out of your model. What is also good is that the models used are normal size and shaped women not stick like glamour models. Very useful little book.
